The Cargosorb Pole-V 1.2 kg is a high-capacity calcium chloride desiccant pole designed for moisture control in shipping containers during sea and long-distance freight. Each pole consists of 12 sachets of 100 g, connected in a chain and enclosed in a trapezoidal profile that fits flush against the container wall — delivering maximum absorption where condensation forms first, without taking up cargo space.

Unlike bag-type desiccants that hang from container rods, the Cargosorb Pole-V attaches directly to the container wall via a self-adhesive strip on the waterproof back panel. The front surface is made from Tyvek 1073B — a breathable, moisture-permeable membrane with FDA approval — which allows humid air to pass through while locking absorbed moisture safely inside as a non-drainable gel. There is no liquid leakage risk.

Each pole absorbs up to 4 litres of moisture within 30 days at 40°C and 90% relative humidity — making it one of the highest-capacity single-unit desiccant formats available for container use. Calcium chloride absorbs significantly more moisture per gram than silica gel or clay, making it the preferred active ingredient for high-humidity trade routes and long-duration sea freight.

Installation

Peel the backing from the self-adhesive strip and press the pole firmly against the container wall, vertically. No tools or fixings required. Position one or more poles along the longer side walls depending on cargo sensitivity and route duration. The trapezoidal profile keeps the pole close to the wall, leaving the full container width available for cargo.
